Job description

We are looking for a Supplier Relationship Manager to join our client's Procurement team.

Working hours ~15:00 - 00:00 (mid-shift)

This opportunity is open only to candidates based in the Philippines

This is an urgent requirement, screening interviews will take place 28th - 31st July

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, implement and sustain strategic relationships with key suppliers to ensure the long-term success of the organisation’s procurement goals.

  • Establish clear performance metrics and expectations for suppliers. Conduct regular business reviews, performance assessments and continuous improvement discussions with suppliers.

  • Lead contract negotiations and ensure suppliers meet contractual obligations. Oversee compliance to terms and conditions, service levels and regulatory requirements.

  • Identify potential risks within the supply base, such as dependency, financial instability, or geopolitical exposure. Work proactively to mitigate these risks and ensure business continuity.

  • Foster an environment of collaboration and innovation with suppliers to identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements.

  • Collaborate closely with internal teams – including Procurement, Legal, Finance, Operations – to align supplier activities with organisational objectives.

  • Stay abreast of market trends, technological advancements and emerging risks in supplier markets. Use insights to recommend and implement sourcing strategies.

  • Classify suppliers based on strategic importance, spend, risk and innovation potential. Tailor management strategies accordingly.

  • Act as the primary escalation point for supplier-related disputes or challenges, resolving issues efficiently to maintain positive relationships.

  • Maintain accurate supplier records, performance dashboards and risk registers. Utilise procurement and supplier management systems to drive efficiency.

  • Promote ethical sourcing, corporate social responsibility and sustainability initiatives across the supplier base.

Job requirements

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or a related field. Professional qualifications (e.g., CIPS, ISM) are advantageous.

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in Procurement, with a proven track record of managing supplier relationships in a complex, global environment.

  • Demonstrable experience in negotiating contracts, managing supplier performance and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Experience with supplier risk management in a regulated industry.

  • Strong experience in Procurement processes, full life cycle sourcing and contract management.

  • Familiarity with procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Coupa, Ariba), supplier performance management tools.

  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to engage and influence at all levels.

  • Analytical, data-driven thinker with experience in creating and driving metrics and reports.

  • Exceptional influencing skills, with a proactive 'can-do' approach and strong attention to detail.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with evolving priorities.

  • Ability to build, manage and sustain long-term supplier relationships

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Fluent in English – verbal and written
